windows in the Statue of Liberty's crown.
The statue was closed following the Sept. 11 attacks.
The National Park Service reopened the base, pedestal, and observation deck in 2004.
The crown was re-opened with special ceremonies that included members of the armed services taking the oath of citizenship.
Several of the first visitors had come as children and wanted their youngsters to have the experience.
