Reichert Response: Right for the Job
The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C. launched a negative attack against Dave Reichert, carrying...
Darcy Burners water and picking up where their perpetual candidate for Congress left off with her own distorted attacks on Dave Reicherts record and votes in Congress. The television ad attempts to use the same tired, false Bush-Rubber-Stamp attack line that did not work in 2006 a year Burner lost the race for the Eighth district despite a strong Democrat wave across the rest of the nation.
Interestingly, the ad attacks Reichert for supporting the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts the very same tax cuts Darcy Burner wants to eliminate according to her own economic plan. Unsurprising, then, that the DCCC is bolstering Burner in this election; they know she would be counted on to rubber-stamp their agenda of higher taxes, more regulation, and bigger government.
The fact is that Reichert has consistently proved his independent, bipartisan approach through both his votes and positions on the issues. The Seattle P-I endorsed on October 10, 2008, Reichert for this very reason, citing his independence and willingness and capacity to hear opposing positions, to learn from discussions and work across political divisions.
As the evidence and support of Reicherts bipartisan, effective approach continue to accumulate, the spin and distortion from the partisan left has kicked into overdrive but its no match for the truth.
