Flying Movie Fighter Pilots in Action: Clipped Wings (1936)

When a young fighter pilot is dismissed from the service, his life turns into a wild ride in the 1930s film

... Clipped Wings. Set between the two World Wars, young Mickey Lofton (William Janney) wants to fly in the Canadian Air Corps, but can’t due to his deeply psychological fear of thunderstorms. While trying to sort out his affairs, he gets entangled in the adventure of the siblings Raoul (Jason Robards) and Molly McGuire (Rosalind Keith). Mickey falls in love with Molly, but before they can fly off into the sunset Raoul gets in trouble with a gang of smugglers. It’s up to Mickey to be an ace fighter pilot and save the day! Great aviation action sequences and some good acting, particularly by Robards, take Clipped Wings to high altitudes of entertainment. Ranked 4.67 / 5 | 381 views | 0 comments
