I took a 3 " K&N Filter and removed the top portion of the factory airbox, and bolted on the filter. I left the bottom

... portion installed to allow for cooler air to reach the filter from the factory intake tube, but at the same time the filter is an open element which allows for air to go through it from all sides instead of from the factory's route. The sound from the intake can get pretty loud.
