'Mr. & Mrs.' is a television show that originated in Canada in 1963, debuting in Britain shortly afterwards. The Canadian version ran for 780 episodes, and was hosted by Roy Ward Dickson, who was also the show's creator.A Welsh language programme in the same format, Sion a Sian ("John and Jane"), began in 1964 and continued until 2003. The show aired for over twenty years in the UK, from 1973 onwards. Created by Roy Ward Dickson, the show tested couples' knowledge of one another. In the United Kingdom it was hosted by Alan Taylor and Derek Batey in Britain, for a time, in two separate versions shown on the ITV network with the Alan Taylor version being produced by HTV and the Derek Batey version produced by Border Television. The format was briefly revived in the UK during 1999, presented by Julian Clary. Celador International has recently licensed the rights to update the format for a 21st century audience.
