Tuesday’s election was a mixed bag for both parties, and the headlines are targeting the swing of independent voters, who had previously backed Barack Obama in the presidential race, now voting in Republican Governors in key states.

With Jackman Out, Academy Snags Martin, Baldwin

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences wasted no time finding a replacement for last year’s Oscar host, Hugh Jackman, after Jackman decided not to return for this year’s 82nd annual Academy Awards. The producers of this year’s Oscars have tapped former host and funnyman Steve Martin to emcee the event, but didn’t stop there: “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin will join Martin as co-host.
