Dems Go After Insurance Co’s Anti-Trust Exemption

New legislation being proposed by Democrats in the House and the Senate would seek to repeal a 1945 law that creates an exemption for health insurance companies in the Federal anti-trust laws.

Representatives of the Insurance Agencies have insinuated that the effort is payback for a report released this week by the insurance companies that claims insurance premiums would rise if a health care reform bill is passed. The Democrats, who have successfully worked to debunk the report’s findings as politically motivated, deny any connection between the events.

Lohan, Patridge Burglar Charged

Police have charged 18 year old Nicholas Prugo with two felony counts related to allegations that the teen broke into the homes of Lindsay Lohan and The Hills star Audrina Patridge. Prugo faces up to six years in prison if convicted. All told, Prugo is suspected of stealing almost $200,000 in jewelry and clothing from the stars homes.
